The New Dunedin Hospital —
They Save We Pay

In 2020 the government signed-off plans for a new hospital for the region. Then, in late 2022 a change to those plans was announced — with some serious cuts. This campaign, with the Dunedin City Council, was launched to encourage the public to join the fight for the original plan. And they certainly got on board.

Posters went up on businesses, t-shirts were widely worn, bumper stickers were stuck, postcards were sent to ministers, and petition gained over 18,000 signatures.

As it stands, $10m worth of cuts have been reversed. The campaign continues to put the pressure on to get the rest.
